Fairuse4wm and QTFairUse 6 : Windows DRM cracked !!! It's a pirate's world !

DRM or Digital Rights Management was untill now a pain in the a** of all the pirates.Some time back DRM hack for Windows Media Player 10 and 11 was launched, called FairUse4WM. Here’s the deal about DRM. most people don’t mind paying for music. They understand that artists put a lot of work into their trade. Just like we put a lot of work into ours. But, DRM limits how they can utilize their purchased music. This really ticks some people off. Hence, people are now vigorously pursuing cracking DRM to get the message across.

You can find the download for FairUse4WM here. Let me just say this. You can strip all DRM rights for WM 10 & 11 with this. I honestly don’t condone this. If you paid for it, however, it’s up to your conscience.

Well, as typically happens, this DRM hack release was followed by QTFairUse6, an iTunes 6.0.4 to 6.0.5 DRM hack. You can download QTFairUse6 here. This is a port of QTFairUse from a while ago. It’s not as easy to use as FairUse4WM, but it does the job.

All this points us to one big question...
What approach should the companies take towards this issue? If they make it paid.. any ways people are going to find ways to crack em.. and if they make it free.. how the hell are they going to make a profit and if they don't how come are they going to come up with new things that you will crack :) ? Its a cycle and not the least....

Hack an ELEVATOR :With just two fingers !!!

Well the tech world is going crazy these days..and this hack proves it again.

How many times have you been in an elevator (digital) during rush hours and it god damn stops at every floor if any one pushes the button.
So your life is one big hell if you have to come down from the 10th floor at rush hours....
But don't worry cause we here at 'keedaguru' are constantly looking at hacks to make life simple.
And this ones just for that.

Purpose : After this hack , the elevator wont stop at any floor even if people press the call button at every floor...and you will reach to your chosen floor without any stop i.e. the EXPRESS WAY !!!

The Hack : OK so the hack... once you get in.. just hold the 'DOOR CLOSE' and the 'FLOOR' button at the same time.And you are in an 'EXPRESS MODE' unless the installers of the elevators were wise enough to turn off this feature so that you will require a 'key', but it sure is worth a try !!!

The DEATH Hack : This hack is not meant to be tried out but this is what hacking means... exploring knowledge, going to the 'deep' side of anything...
NOTE: With this hack you can actually kill a person.. and I am not responsible in any way for any thing done by you or any one for that matter if you follow these steps and end up in trouble or whatsoever.

If you press CLOSE DOOR and EMERGENCY together, you force the doors to close.It is great to use when some jerk holds the elevator by throwing his leg or arm across a closing elevator door.The drawback is getting blood splattered on yourself after the elevator chops of the guys limbs !!!

Elevators that have been tested and tried on:
Otis Elevators (All But The Ones Made In 1992),
Dover (Model Numbers: EL546 And ELOD862),
And Most Desert Elevators (All, But Model Numbers ELD5433 And ELF3655)

So the next time you save some minutes with this hack.. do remember to spread the word of the keeda guru !!!

Make a Windows LIVE CD using Bart PE : Use Windows without installing it !!!

So today we are going to look at a technology which is fast gripping the world.
As you might have guessed..yes we are going to discuss about LIVE CDs

A.INTRODUCTION TO LIVE CDS

So what does LIVE Cds actually mean? Well it is a very simple yet a powerful concept.
Simply put...say you use an Operating system (XP,Vista,Linux...) however you have to install these OS on your hard disk before using them..And suppose you don't like them you will have to format the disk...
Now LIVE CDs come into the picture as they let you enjoy the features of an operating system but you do not need to install any files !!!! Yes... just boot from a LIVE CD and within 3 minutes your Operating System is up and running...and when you are tired of it..just eject the CD.

The concept is that LIVE CDs load all the necessary information into the RAM. An analogous example... LIVE CDs are like 'TEST DRIVES' ..you drive the car for some time and walk out the next moment without buying it.... however our OSes are like buying a car...you have to pay for it before driving.

LIVE CDs give you a complete Win32 environment with network support, a graphical user interface (800x600) and FAT/NTFS/CDFS filesystem support. Very handy for burn-in testing systems with no OS, rescuing files to a network share, virus scan and so on.But they are no ways a replacement for a full fledged OS.

B.REQUIREMENTS TO BUILD

  1. The files from your Windows Installation CD-Rom.
    Supported Windows versions are:
    • Windows XP Home Edition (must be slip streamed with Service Pack 1 or higher)
    • Windows XP Professional (must be slip streamed with Service Pack 1 or higher)
    • Windows Server 2003, Web Edition
    • Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition
    • Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition
  2. Download the latest version of Bart's PE builder from here.
  3. CD/DVD writer if you want to create a bootable CD/DVD.
C.GETTING STARTED

This will help you create your very first BartPE CD. It assumes that you are using Windows XP.

  1. Make sure that your system has about 500MB of free disk space!
  2. Download the latest PE Builder version (self-installing package) and install it.
  3. Start PE Builder (pebuilder.exe). When you start PE Builder for the first time it will ask if you agree with the license agreement.
  4. Now PE Builder will ask to search for windows installation files. If you don't have your windows XP setup/installation files on your system you must insert the original Microsoft Windows XP installation/setup CD at this point.
    The files you have at c:\windows are not installation files. They are your already installed files!
    Click "yes" to start searching. PE Builder will now search all fixed- and CD-Rom drives for Windows installation files. This will take some time. When more than one valid location is found, a dialog will appear where you can select which location you want to use.
  5. At the main PE Builder dialog, select the "Burn to CD/DVD" option. When you are using an erasable medium, make sure that the "AutoErase RW" option is enabled. The "burn using" option should be set to "StarBurn". Select your CD writer device from the Device list.
  6. Hit the "build" button. PE Builder will now ask you to create a BartPE directory, answer with "yes".
  7. The license for your Microsoft Windows XP product is shown. Read it and agree to it to continue.
  8. PE Builder will now start building BartPE. This will take a few minutes.
    You will see a lot of files getting copied and/or decompressed, the ISO image build and the data recorded to your CD/DVD writer.
    If the data verify was correct and there where no errors reported you can boot the CD/DVD!

E.SUPPORT

If you have any problems or questions about PE Builder here is where you can get more information:

  • Make sure you have the latest version, goto http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/ and check.
  • Take special notice of the FAQ page.
  • Browse the CD forum. Read/search the "Windows PE" and "PE Builder" forum and if you problem is not listed, become a "member" so you can post a question in the "PE Builder" forum.
  • If your problem/question is still not solved/answered you can contact the author. Please keep in mind, that the PE Builder program is put together in my "spare" time. That time is very limited as I also work 40 hours a week. If you have build problem, please include a "verbose" logfile. Please zip it before sending.
Please do not contact Microsoft for support on the preinstallation environment that has been created by PE Builder!
Microsoft does not provide support for PE Builder or for the preinstallation environment created by PE Builder.

BartPE allows a user to boot Windows XP/Windows Server 2003 from a CD-ROM regardless of the condition of the installed operating systems on the internal hard drive. This means that the user can, for instance, recover data from a failed operating system installation, or reset a lost administrator password.The next time you don't need to reinstall the system or call the 'RECOVERY GUY' who taxes you a 4 figure amount !!!

So have fun making your own customized Windows LIVE CD.

Next post will be 'How to make an Automated Windows Installation CD' so that you don't need to be at the desk and when you come back after a tea break....Windows is up and running !!!

HACK your NOKIA phone : Nokia Secret Codes

So thekeedaguru is back and this time with a bang.

You might not be aware but you can actually HACK your NOKIA phone !!!
These are things not meant for the public... you can do a lot of thingz with these codes.
So as the excitement goes up.... lets not waste time..and get started

I have divided this post into three sections:
A. Beginner Section (Codes that don't cause any harm and any one can use them)
B. Intermediate Section (Codes that might go wrong (a very small probability) and can do a lot of significant things!!!)
C. Advanced Section {the keedaguru section} (Hacks that require you to open your phone... You might just void your warranty !!!)

And as every time..... Note: I am not responsible for any damage caused while using these codes or trying to use them...... This is just cause my lawyer says that someday you might sue me!!!

A.BEGINNER SECTION

These codes will work on 90% of the phones

The codes have to be entered at the main screen(your normal screen where you type phone numbers to call).

1. *#06# Display the IMEI (Standard GSM command, works on all phones).

2. *#0000# Displays your phones software version, 1st Line : Software Version, 2nd Line : Software Release Date, 3rd Line : Compression Type

3. *#9999# Phones software version if *#0000# does not work.

4. *#92702689# or *#war0anty# Displays - 1.Serial Number (IMEI), 2.Date Made (MM/YY ), 3.Purchase Date (MM/YY) You can enter this date only once , 4.Date of last repair (0000 for no repairs), 5.Transfered User Data via Infra Red .
To exit this mode you need to switch your phone off then on again some phones give you the option of pressing OK.

5. *#147# This lets you know who called you last (Only vodofone).

6. *#1471# Last call (Only vodofone) .

14. *#7780# Restore factory settings.

15. *#7760# Manufactures code.

16. *#8110# Software version for the nokia 8110.

17. Press and hold # Lets you switch between lines.

18. 12345 This is the default security code .

B.INTERMEDIATE SECTION

The following codes are for the older 40 series phones

1. *4720# or (*hra0#) Activates Half Rate, Half Rate is 5.6kbit/s and uses half the bandwidth at the cost of call quality. Network operators often activate half rate on overloaded towers during peak times to save costs.You will save in battery life i.e. talk time with this mode on.Almost 30% more battery life.

2. #4720# or (#hra0#) Deactivates Half Rate

3. *3370# or (*efr0#) Activates Enhanced Full Rate, EFT attempts to match wire quality. The calls are 12.2kbit/s and are not supported by all operators. It is compatible with the highest AMR mode.You will loose about 5% on battery life.

4. #3370# or (#efr0#) Deactivates Enhanced Full Rate.

5. *#746085685# or (*#sim0clock#) Display the SIM clock status

Following codes for newer 40 series and 60 series phones alternatively you can try them if they work on your phone.

6. #pw+1234567890+1# Service Provider Lock Status. (use the "*" button to obtain the "p,w" and "+" symbols).

7. #pw+1234567890+2# Network Lock Status. (use the "*" button to obtain the "p,w" and "+" symbols)

8. #pw+1234567890+3# Country Lock Status. (use the "*" button to obtain the "p,w" and "+" symbols).

9. #pw+1234567890+4# SIM Card Lock Status. (use the "*" button to obtain the "p,w" and "+" symbols) .

10. *#67705646# or (*#opr0logo#) Phone code that removes operator logo on 3310 & 3330.

11. *#73# Reset phone timers and game scores.

12. *#746025625# Displays the SIM Clock status, if your phone supports this power saving feature "SIM Clock Stop Allowed", it means you will get the best standby time possible .

13. *#94870345123456789# Deactivate the PWM-Mem.

14. *#7220# or (*#pca0#) Activate the GPRS PCCCH support (Packet Common Control Channel)

15. *#7230# or (*#pcd0#) Deactivate the GPRS PCCCH support

16. *#7760# or (*#ssn0#) Display the manufacturing serial number

17. *#2820# or (*#bta0#) Display the Bluetooth MAC address (Phone must have a built in bluetooth adapter)

18. *#7370925538# or (*#res0wallet#) Reset the mobile wallet (Phone must have the mobile wallet feature)

19. *#7370# or (*#res0#) Soft-format the memory (Symbian)

20. *#7780# or (*#rst0#) Reset to factory defaults, confirmation required (also known has a Hard-format), all phone contents will be wiped clean including contacts and smses if they are stored on the phone.

C.ADVANCED SECTION (hmmm lets have some fun)

1 Studying the IMEI number
As you know typing *#06# brings up a 15 digit IMEI number known as INTERNATIONAL MOBILE EQUIPMENT IDENTITY

The format of the code is

XXXXXX XX XXXXXX X
TAC FAC SNR SP

TAC= Type Approval Code
FAC= Final Assembly Code
SNR= Serial number
SP= Spare

Remember that the IMEI number is a unique number.No two phones have the same IMEI number.And the best part ... it cannot be changed by any means(although there are....NEXT POST).
So you need to note down your IMEI no. in case your phone is stolen.

2.Revealing the Headphone and Car-Kit menus

Please note that if you do these next tricks, the new menus can't be erased without restoring the factory default settings. To do these tricks you need to short-circuit the pins on the bottom of the phone next to where you plug in you charger.

1. To activate the "Headset" menu, you need to short-circuit pins "3" and "4". After a short time the word "Headset" will be shown in the display. Menu 3-6 is now enabled.

2. To activate the "Car" menu, you need to short-circuit pins "4" and "5". After a short time the word "Car" will be shown in the display. Menu 3-7 is now enabled.

3. Using your phone for spying.

If you short-circuit the left middle and right pins on the bottom of the phone with all connections touching each other, the Nokia software hangs! The profile "Headset" will be activated. Before you do this just activate the "Automatic Answer" in the headset profile and set the ringing volume to "Mute". Now you can use your phone for checking out what people are talking about in a room. Just place it under a table in a room and call it. The phone receives the call without ringing and you can listen to what people are saying.

4. Network Monitor

There is a hidden menu inside your Nokia phone. If you want to activate it, you'll have to re-program some chips inside of your phone.

1. Check your software version (Refer hack # 2 in the beginner section ). You can only continue if you have v4.33, v4.73 or v5.24.

2. Take apart the phone.

3.De-solder the EEPROM (ATMEL AT 24C64).

4. Read out the data with an EEPROM programmer and save it to a file (Backup).

5. If you have v.33 or v4.73, change the address "03B8" from "00" to "FF".

6.If you have v5.24 then change the address "0378" from "00" to "FF".

7. Write the new data to the EEPROM and solder it back to the phone,

8. Power on your phone and you should have "Netmonitor" enabled.

The Network Monitor gives you the following information.

* Carrier number
* MS RX Level in DBM
* Received signal quality
* MS TX power level
* C1 (Path loss criterion, used for cell selection and reselection). The range is -99 to 99.
*RTL (Radio link timeout).
* Timeslot
* Indication of the transmitter status
* Information on the Network parameters.
*TMSI (Temporary Mobile Subscriber Identity).
*Cell identification (Cell ID, Number of cells being used).
*MCC (Mobile country code)
*MCN (Mobile network code)
*LAC (Location area code)
*Ciphering (On/Off)
*Hopping (On/Off)
*DTX (On/Off)
*Discard cell barred information

5. Check SIM LOCK status

This is a detailed explanation of the lock status hacks in the intermediate section.

Note - If you bought your Nokia on UK Vodafone or UK Cellnet you do not need to check this because they both transmit on GSM900, and they don't lock the phones. However if you bought your phone on UK Orange or UK One2one your phone may be blocked. The reason is that they both transmits on GSM1800. To make a call on GSM1800 you need what is known as a "Dual band" phone. A dual band phone is able to transmit on both GSM900 and GSM1800, so they lock the phones so you can't use it with any other network sim card. If you find that your phone is locked you can try different software to unlock it. (we haven't found one that works yet), or you can ask your service provider who will gladly exchange the 10 digit code for about £35.

This is how to check the status of the 4 different locks. Also don't try entering the wrong number, because after 3 times it will block the phone for good.

There are 4 different locks on your Nokia phone.

*COUNTRY-LOCK
*NETWORK-LOCK
*PROVIDER-LOCK
*SIMCARD-LOCK

The code to read out the sim-lock status of your phone is

#PW+(MASTERCODE)+(Y)#

# = DOUBLE-CROSS
W = PRESS "*" THREE TIMES
P = PRESS "*" FOUR TIMES
+ = PRESS "*" TWO TIMES
MASTERCODE = 1234567890
Y = NUMBER 1 TO 4

The master code is a secret code. The code has 10 digits, To read out the sim-lock status you can enter every combination you want!

"Y" Shows the status of the network-lock. Here you can enter a number from "1" to "4". The "4" is for the sim-card lock.

SIM-LOCK CHECKS

* #PW+1234567890+1# = GIVES PROVIDER-LOCK STATUS
* #PW+1234567890+2# = GIVES NETWORK-LOCK STATUS
* #PW+1234567890+3# = GIVES COUNTRY-LOCK STATUS
* #PW+1234567890+4# = GIVES SIM-CARD-LOCK STATUS

6. Unlock your Nokia Phone

And I would like to mention this website I came across GSM Liberty
This website supports mobile unlocking.For eg. Say you bought a phone from a particular operator X. Now X by default has locked your phone so that it cannot be used with other Operators.
This site gives you free unlock code and they claim to be the best at it.
Also they have a very good forum and a very organized and informative support center.
Check the site out.

Voosh!!!
Can't believe I finished this article.When I started it seemed to be a never ending work.....took me 5 hours to compile the list and personally checking every hack....

One lesson to learn : The simplest of things are the most complicated of sorts.

How about hacking into Windows ???

Well as you all know that to change the password of a user in Windows 98/NT/2000/XP we need to know the OLD PASSWORD and then only you are allowed to change it to a new one.

So today I will be teaching you how to change that OLD PASSWORD without even knowing it !!!
Yes !!! We are gonna hack right into windows.

Note: I am not responsible for the usage of this knowledge in any form for any activity. It will be the sole responsibility of the user.

So lets get started....

1.Open Command Prompt in a system which you are already logged in.
Two ways to do this
Select 'Run' from the Start Menu.Type 'cmd' without the quotes.
OR
Go to Start->All Programs->Accessories->Command Prompt.

2.You will be greeted with a black window where in you can type.

3. Irrespective of the directory you are in ....
Just type 'net user' without the quotes.
A snapshot....(Click the image for a larger view)

4.Press Enter and you will be greeted with the following screen.

Now here we should note...this is the list of users on the computer
The name of the computer is 'AEOS '(can be seen in bold and all caps)

The users are-

Administrator
download
helios3d
thekeedaguru
Guest

We ignore the other users (Help Assistant,Support_388945a0) because these are accounts created for Windows internal purposes.

5.If you are not sure which of the User Accounts hold 'Administrative Prevelliges' and which ones are 'Limited Accounts' ..then just type 'net user ' in the command prompt.
For example to know what type of user is 'thekeedaguru' ... just type
net user thekeedaguru
Press Enter and see the information.

6. OK so let us change the password of 'thekeedaguru' without the knowledge of his previous password :-)
So in this case lets set the password to 'newpassword'
We just type in
net user thekeedaguru newpassword
If you get a 'The Command Completed Successfully' message... wallah!! the password has been changed!!!!

Hmmm and now you know how to hack into windows....

However this method requires you to be logged into the system...But this method is fast and very simple.

Lookout for a tutorial into actual Windows Hacking... i.e. you don't need to know anything...not even logged in...with the help of a CD and a software how you can crack a system ....change passwords...add new users having Admin rights and for the more advanced types I will be teaching you how to edit the Registry without even starting Windows....and you should know that the Registry is the heart of the system...you can make changes which can affect the system in the most worst or the best ways.....

Keedagiri is our religion.
Adios.
